orphan care. i have seen this very topic divide people, scare people, and humble people. how and when and what can we do to care for orphans. this Sunday is what is known as Orphan Sunday. it is a chance to share what you know, or sit and listen and learn.
i want to encourage you to take a seat at the Orphan's Table. the idea is to make a simple meal like oatmeal and while sharing dinner with family or friends, talk, really talk. ask questions. Orphan Sunday has a great resource called Orphan Sunday Prayer and Discussion Guide. talk about what scares you, talk about what makes you mad, talk about what you can learn, talk about what you can do.
then decide to take part in the Live Webcast Event on Sunday night. with your same talking group watch, take part, share, learn. it is going to be a great event. if you want to take part in the Live from Kansas webcast know it is free BUT you have to register before. like go now and register.
we started talking about orphan care with a very young Carly and Colt. i vividly remember their early elementary faces learning about children in our neighborhood and also in far away places who are without parents. we were ready as a family to be action for orphans because of their young awareness. it was not something we told them be about but, we shared stories, we shared truth and they became about orphan care.
if you happen to live in the Houston area, i would love for you to come to Bayou City Fellowship this Sunday, Orphan Sunday. our church has created a walk through of art stations with a lot of information to simply bring awareness. it is something you will want to see, so come if you are close.

Wish we'd been in Houston and could come to your church. I love what you guys are doing and you're such an inspiration to us as we walk through the process of adoption. Our church didn't do anything for Adoption Sunday and I'd like to change that for next year. Is there a website associated with Adoption Sunday or something to help with tips in starting this?
